ALRID Scholarship Information

Since it’s foundation in the 1970’s, ALRID has been committed to the education and continuing professional development of interpreters in the state of Alabama. To assist our members in reaching their professional goals, ALRID is distinctly honored to be able to offer our members two unique scholarships:

The Sue Scott Scholarship - awarded annually, as funds permit, to an ALRID member for the partial payment (50%) of one RID Written or Performance test or the CDI test to promote certification of interpreters in the state of Alabama. The Louise Wohlford Memorial Scholarship – awarded as funds permit to an ALRID member for the payment of registration fees at the Early Bird registration rate for conferences or workshops offering RID CEUs to promote the professional development of interpreted in the state of Alabama.

Each of these scholarships require applicants to be members of ALRID.  If you are interested in becoming a member in order to meet this requirement for a scholarship, please visit the membership page for more information and an application. Membership applications are processed on-line. Once payment is received, it may take up to a week for application approval and membership activation.
